We are seeing the sun earlier and earlier these days, and the temps have even broken into the upper forties a couple of days. Today is the first day I'm not wearing my overcoat since December. (I do have on 3 layers, though.)
Of course with the warmer temperature comes the season of MUD. Yes, if you remember there are really 3 seasons here: DUST, SNOW, and MUD. We don't really have a driveway that leads to our gate, just about 20 - 30 yards of dirt, so getting to our gate is increasing interesting as the tires sink deeper and deeper and your shoes also sink deeper and deeper when you get out to open the gate.
Now, to add to the delight of this sticky situations, one of our neighbors decided to invest in dirt (to make clay bricks, we've been told), so the other night we returned from a meeting at school at around 9pm to find 10 mountains of dirt/clay had been dumped in the area in front of our wall and quite close to your gate. Kh, the master driver, we able to work his way around a few at very sharp angles and eventually make it in the gate. The neighbors had moved quite a bit of it by the next morning, but we still have quite a steep incline to come down in order to enter the gate, not to mention the new, loose dirt makes much more squishy mud that the old packed down stuff we had. So far I haven't lost a shoe, yet, but as I mentioned, the thaw has just begun and the rains are yet to come.

So which do you prefer? Dust, snow, or mud? Tough call!
