We have some of the cutest kids that live on our street and in our neighborhood. This little boy reminds us all of Harry Potter. I love going walking in the afternoon and getting to greet all the kids. Granted my language doesn't go much past.
"Hi! How are you? I am good, thank you. Are you good?"
Introductions and opening "questions" go on and ON here, so if you just know one phrase and keep repeating it three or for times, then you are doing just fine.
Anyway, this is a picture from the feast that we threw for the neighborhood in appreciation for all of their patience during our construction which has blocked off the road on many occasions, and I'm sure made their life a bit of a pain. We had over 110 come and our cook worked for 2 days straight. Nothing was left when it was all over. It was so nice to be able to share and see everyone enjoying themselves.

you are SO right. the little boy reminds me of harry potter as well! and it's interesting that you mention the ongoing greeting. it is the same here as well. when you ask "how are you doing?" you don't even have to answer the question, but make sure to say thank you. everyone in the room has to ask the question to everyone else, and so you hear everyone's answer repeatedly. that was great that so many in your neighborhood came to your "thank you" bash. (i realize now that i should just write this all in an email) alright have a really great week!
