Some of you who are regular readers already know this little bit of news, but others may have no earthly idea that my mom is here in Ktown. She's planning to stay for about 3 months and help at the English Language Institute as well as do whatever she can to help around school. She was actually able to fly into Dubai just a couple of days before all the teachers were flying back to Kabul after our teaching conference in Bangkok. So we all flew into Ktown together.
She's doing well as she adapts to life here. She's made cookies for our group, made grilled cheese sandwiches for the adult English classes, and had her first round of the K-town krud. (She's doing better, though.) It's a blessing to have her here so she can identify with the things that have become part of my daily life.

Well, I'm certain she received a warm welcome once they tasted those cookies!
I had no idea she was there - so exciting!!
i'm so excited that her cookies are moving around the globe!
it's wonderful that you were all able to fly in together. i'm sure that was a big relief for everyone.
